Lindsay French
Lindsay French is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Lindsay combines deep personal reflection with humour in her therapy sessions. Lindsay’s experience as a youth mentor, and counsellor led her to work full-time in the mental health profession.
As a queer, and neurodivergent individual, she understands how it can feel to be an outsider. This is why she provides therapy where a client feels connected, safe, and affirmed by their counsellor.
Lindsay shows up collaboratively in her sessions to help her clients achieve their goals. She understands the unique challenges her clients face and uses evidence-based techniques to encourage their growth.
Lindsay’s approach to treating ADHD is to ensure her clients understand the unique workings of their neurotypical brain. This means adapting and customizing interventions to fit the uniqueness of each client. She believes in the importance of building self-compassion, so her clients have a balanced approach to their emotions.
In Lindsay’s work she utilizes mindfulness and somatic based interventions to build her client’s mind/body connection. In her work with anxious and depressed individuals she finds a strong connection to the body brings the most healing. She encourages clients to get curious about how feelings arise in their body and uses techniques to strengthen this connection.
With the 2SLGBTQIA+ community Lindsay uses a narrative approach to realign a client’s experience to their gender and sexuality. Together she collaborates with her clients to align their identity with their authentic self. She does this through strengthening her client’s resilience and self-esteem. She knows how hard it is to navigate sexuality in a heteronormative culture and brings this understanding to her therapy work.

She believes in working alongside her clients, empowering them to identify their strengths and harness them in the pursuit of their therapeutic goals. By encouraging self-exploration and fostering resilience, Sofiya helps clients navigate their challenges and facilitates meaningful change in their lives.
A note from Sofiya: We all need someone to talk to from time to time. Someone who will listen attentively to us without passing judgment. As early in life as I can remember, I have possessed an innate desire to help others. I am an empathic and highly attuned individual with genuine caring, compassion, and unconditional positive regard for others.
Childhood trauma had a profound effect on me and ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in education. My focus has been to foster inclusion and to empower others, which has carried over into my role as a psychotherapist. I work with a diverse clientele and address a number of issues, including trauma, self-esteem, body image issues, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and general life stress. I am also passionate about play-based and expressive arts therapies, two areas in which I have gained expertise in my work as an educator.
Through my own personal challenges with infertility and pregnancy loss, my goal is to support others struggling to grow or expand their families, as well as to help to alleviate the shame and isolation that often accompanies infertility and grief. I utilize a client-centred, cognitive-behavioural and a solution-focused approach, embedding holistic practices such as mindfulness and spirituality. It is important for me to tailor my approach to each client’s individual needs, working collaboratively to navigate their challenges and achieve their goals.
I hope to work with you and to support you on your wellness journey.

Through connection, we share experiences, emotions, and stories, unlocking a profound understanding of our feelings that guides us toward healing and growth. This bond empowers us to cultivate meaningful relationships with others, providing invaluable emotional support and comfort.
Having earned a degree in psychology from York University in 2022, I have had the privilege of applying my knowledge to gain deeper insights into human behaviour. This understanding enables me to create thoughtful strategies that support individuals on their mental health journeys and help them navigate personal challenges.
Over the past 15 years, I have gained extensive experience as a supervisor, which has shaped my person-centred, collaborative, and empathetic approach. I dedicate considerable time to supporting educators, families, and children as they navigate life’s challenges, fostering enriched and meaningful lives while inspiring positive, healthy relationships. Creating a safe and welcoming space is essential, where individuals feel free to explore their concerns without fear of judgment or bias. Mental health is a crucial aspect of our overall well-being, as our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and actions are deeply interconnected. It is important to recognize how negative thoughts and emotions can sometimes trap us in a difficult cycle. I believe that the Emotional Focus Therapy framework offers valuable insight, as each of us is an expert on our own experiences, possessing the closest access to our emotions and playing a key role in constructing the meanings through which we navigate our lives. Embracing the person-centred approach, I believe that within each of us lies the power and strength to discover our best solutions and the capability to effect meaningful change. The strength of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy lies in the understanding that what we often need is support in navigating overwhelming challenges with self-compassion and a constructive mindset, allowing us to break these challenges down into smaller, more manageable parts.

Tingwei Zhang Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Feeling low? Sensing overwhelmed? Getting stuck? In the Buddhist belief, life is challenging and can be suffering. How we navigate through trauma, pain, hurt, and agony, though, reflects how much we can gain through the experiences. Tingwei wants you to know that you are not alone as she can be there for you, till you find the light again, together. Tingwei considers life a forever learning and evolving journey with various hurdles and diverse experiences, which aligns with the philosophy of positive psychology (i.e., well-being is a result of learning), person-centred theories, and strength-based approaches. Tingwei believes that we might not have much control over what has happened in the past, but we can learn to change the way we react to similar events, limit the aftermath, and move on with a lighter pack, but a richer mind.
Tingwei (She/her) is a registered nurse and a registered psychotherapist (Qualifying) who is finishing her Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Her nursing consolidation experiences in various mental health fields (i.e., Mental Health Emergency Suits, Mental Health Child and Youth, Mental Health Adult Inpatient, Extra Care Area, and Mental Health Iso Unit) determined her interest and goal in pursuing advanced education in counselling psychology. At the same time, she continues acknowledging and addressing patients’ emotions, feelings, and mental distress regarding life changes brought by surgeries, the prognosis of diseases, and the transition to rehab within in her surgical nursing role.
Working in both long-term and acute healthcare settings for six years, Tingwei specializes in supporting people with chronic conditions, grief, and difficult life transitions. As a woman from a developing country, a visible minority, and a first-generation immigrant, she empathetically focuses on holistic views, cultural sensitivity, gender biases, marginalization, and oppression.
It would be an honour if you invited Tingwei into your lived experiences and let her accompany you in finding meaning in your journey.
